SALVATION III ✝️

Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Salvation is God’s gift to mankind given through grace and procured by faith. No one can boast of salvation because it is entirely a “rescue” operation by God for helpless man. It came by a price too high that we couldn’t have paid by ourselves.

In one of the Superman movies, Clark Kent (Superman) shows up just in time to save a crashing plane, carrying it and placing it safely on the ground. Now the people on board could not take the honor to themselves despite everything they had done because if not for Superman, they would all be dead.

Likewise, no man can take credit for salvation because it is entirely on the account of Jesus Christ. He was literally wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed. (Isa. 53:3-5, 1 Pet. 2:24).

The only thing we can do to appreciate the finished work of Jesus is to receive the free gift of salvation by faith. Romans 10:9 says “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

The scripture continues and says, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Rom. 10:10). This takes us back to faith, the agent that can procure the free gift of salvation to all mankind.

CONFESSION 🙏🏾

Thank you Lord Jesus for your sacrifice for me on the cross. I truly believe that you died and rose in my place and have given me the gift of salvation freely. I appreciate your free gift of grace and enjoy all its benefits with gratitude. Amen.
